David writes and speaks regularly on M&A-related topics. He’s published three books, including A Concise Overview of Business Valuation. He’s received numerous awards over the years for his writing, such as from the U.S. Small Business Administration.
David Perkins earned his undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Oklahoma, and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Notre Dame. He has completed coursework on business valuation, mergers and acquisitions, and negotiation at various institutions, such as the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton School). He’s a trained business valuation analyst, and an expert witness in the areas of valuation, investments and deal structure. He’s an experienced court-appointed receiver, an expert on Employee Stock Option Plans (ESOP), and consults on the establishment and administration of ESOPs.
Perkins is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission as an investment advisor, and is licensed as a real estate broker. Before turning to M&A consultancy he worked in commercial lending, real estate brokerage, and as CFO for a software company.
Perkins resides in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He’s an investor, community volunteer, golfer, runner, pilot, and father of three daughters.
