Her writings have been published in academic and practitioner journals including Harvard Business Review, International Journal of Disclosure and Governance, The Corporate Board and Agenda Magazine.
Prior to establishing Charas Consulting, Inc., Solange was the Head of HR for three for-profit organizations: Praetorian Financial Services Group, Benfield Group and EURO RSCG, the largest division ($8 billion in billings) of France-based Havas Advertising. She was responsible for the creation and management of all HR programs for these organizations. In addition, she was on the Corporate HR staff at GE Financial Services.
Prior to her corporate experience, she spent over 15 years in the consulting practice of public accounting and specialty consulting firms including Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young, Towers Watson and The Hay Group. In these organizations she held senior-level positions, managing consultants as well as directly serving clients. Her focus is on HR analytics and evidence-based consulting, optimizing the return on investment of human capital spend.
Apart from her consulting work, she is a frequent speaker at national HR conferences, universities and corporate training programs.
Solange received an undergraduate degree in International Political Economy from University of California at Berkeley, and an MBA from Cornell University’s Johnson School of Management.
She served as a board director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee of a public company, and serves as a director of two private for-profit organizations.
